In the video, he narrates his journey with fitness and how it has had the most positive impact on both his personal and professional life.
“Being able to carry out all the responsibilities through the day without mental or physical strength. Living a life without any major ailments.” That’s what he says fitness means to him.
It further means a healthy state of mind – that feeling happiness and not exhaustion after a hard day’s work. Fitness gives him the luxury to feel fresh after a pressing day and blesses him with that mental space to be able to spend quality time with his family.
At his age, he says it is no longer about having abs or a great physical body. It’s about being in a great mental space.
Being fit allowed me to push my limits, says Suniel Shetty
Being healthy and having a structured life has allowed him to maximize the opportunities he got. “After working for hours without numbers, I’d still have the emotional and physical bandwidth to take up more work,” adds one of Bollywood’s fittest actor, who started his career in 1992.
What motivates Suniel Shetty to prioritize fitness
“When I was younger, fitness was about having strength, making abs, and looking a certain way and being tough, and it did work for me. It did help pivot my acting career as I got so many roles after my first movie because of the way I look,” he shares.
But now, for him, fitness is more about preserving and saving himself to live a longer and healthier life. it is more about feeling good and delivering more in those 6-8 hours.
Importance of good health and staying fit
Fitness, he says, is non-negotiable. It is also about taking care of each other’s well-being.
“We owe fitness to ourselves. We owe it to our family since we all stood out for each other during the hard times of Covid-19,” says Shetty.
As per Shetty, when we are fit, we perceive things differently. He urges all men and women alike to be that flicker of light that people these days need to be in that mental or physical space.
